Earlier today, I received an email from APSA's Mentoring Program informing me that I had just been matched up to mentor an absolutely delightful human being. An absolutely delightful human being I sadly do not have the time to mentor!
Anyhow, I am expanding the purview of the blog a bit - in part to assuage my guilt about not being able to mentor this person, and in part to respond to comments and questions from some of you that suggest to me that mentees need resources about mentoring, too.
So, I am going to include in this blog some posts that are written specifically for mentees, alongside of ones written more for mentors. In other words, I am going to put some stuff up here that may help mentors to mentor, but also may help some grad students, recent PhDs, and junior faculty to "self-mentor" a little - with the BIG caveat that I think it is FAR better to develop a mentoring relationship with an actual human being, instead of a virtual relationship with this blog.
Look out on the right side of the page, then, and you will see that I am labeling blogposts. I'll label posts specifically for grad student mentees, or for junior faculty mentees, or for mentors, as appropriate. You can then click on the tab and find just the posts that are relevant for you.
And, as always, please leave me comments and questions so I know what you want to hear about.
